A Proposal !!!!!!

I am planning to create an international network for the associates of the MA/MFA (past, present and the future). The network could centre around a web site where the members are professionally introduced, this could include details of work, practice and publications.....Forums can be linked to the network ( there can be more than one blog ) where different groups can discuss different issues. The network can provide a framework for publicity of its members, a place to get to know one another, to discuss different ideas, to organize international exhibition/events, and for publications. It would be based on participatory events and very much in the hand of its members. I think the net work should be independent but it can maintain an association with the University.
Ok you may say all very well but how can it be done? Simple. All a network needs is strong and creative members and I believe we have this and some. We do not need a very complicated web site at least to begin with if we use the blog system for communication and link it for convenience to the site. I am familiar with required level of programming and I could put something together hopefully by the end of the Summer. We would need financial support at some stage but I think the idea is too exciting to be halted by various found raising scheme. I suggest that we get the ball rolling and then seek financial help. What do I need from you at this stage? As the present students you will have to play a key role but first I need to know whether you like the idea or not. And if you do then I can start putting the plan into action. We need a title, a logo, perhaps a look and any other ideas concerning the design which may also be linked to the way you may want to run the network.

A few questions ???

London was great. A big thank to Sarahfrito.

I am glad to see the blog in use. If anyone is having problem joining please let me know. Make sure you have a voice in the great debate. The great artists from pervious years have heard about the blog and they want to join. Is this all right with everyone? I could set up another blog for all the day to day issues of the MA/MFA if it makes life easier. But it may be a laugh for the great artists of the previous years to remember the facts of life on the MA/MFA.

I like the idea of using the blog as a platform for debates and the exchange of ideas. I have been reading some of the essays and a short version or extracts of some can become a point of discussion. Who dares wins. Any other issues that may provoke a debate?

It may help to give some information about yourselves in the Profile area specially when the great artists of the pervious years (GAPY) join the blog.

Websites can be placed on the link area, so if you have one and you want to do so please send me the link.

Any ideas on any of the aboves?

I'm thinking (a dangerous past time...)

So i'm working with some sound, which may come as a shock to some of you, because i bet you have no idea what sort of work i'm doing as i haven't done a forum since december...you are in luck, i'll be on that in the next two weeks - hold me to it!

anyway, why i mention it is because i'm talking about personal sound and personal space, and discman and tape walkmans spring to mind...if anyone has any old ones lying around and you don't mind sparing them for a few weeks, even if they only sort of work - bring them in if you don't mind. (but they are prob. about a 10er at the big redwhite&blue corporation.)

hope london was a trip. let's do it again before the degree show.

is this OK to put on here?
why not i guess.
